ACCOMPLISHMENTS

I am not sure I shouldn't be making an accomplishments list instead of a list to do or even the wishes list. The last two lists can make one feel as if not enough energy was devoted to getting those items completed. This is NEVER the case actually. A lot of energy is devoted to getting ANYTHING done. As humans we tend to accentuate our negative and give less accolades to our accomplishments. Saying I did good does not make me a proud individual in the Biblical sense. I don't believe so anyway. I don't think Heavenly Father wants me to say, well, didn't do everything on my list, I am such a loser! NO!!! I believe He would want me to build myself up and remember that I am His daughter and of a DIVINE Birthright.

So, my accomplishments this week were amazing. Even the time spent rejuvinating has its benefits and is of good worth, both to me and my family. I am learning that if I take time at work and at home to relax a few minutes and move away from the task at hand, I actually find an inner peace that allows for more capability. I am learning to BE STILL and SEE GOD'S HAND in ALL things. This has been freeing to my spirit.

I will need to still make to do lists just to keep track of thoughts in my mind. HOWEVER, I will NOT be bound to them anymore.

Yarden play

I can't really even call it yarden work when I enjoy it so much. Finally was able to get out there and mow our jungle back down to a yarden. It was good exercise. I raked and swept the front yarden. The new grass is growing very well. Can't wait to dig up more of the icky grass and put down new seed. Might end up with a great front yard yet! I also was able to deweed the Egyptian lilly out back. I had already cleaned it up and the weeds were growing back. I know how hard that project was and it is a lot easier to maintain if you keep on it.

My sweetheart watered everything for me to let me get more of my wants done out there. That takes a good 30 to 45 minutes so it was quite the blessing for me. I don't so much like to water when I can be actively getting my hands dirty :-)

This next week I hope to rake up the back and get some more of the necessary and never ending weeding done.

Pizza Dough

Made my first batch of pizza dough. We have it in the freezer right now. It is waiting for next weekend to make the pizza. It was easier than I thought it would be. We are experimenting on the freezing of the dough. If it works, I will be able to always have some dough ready for my sweetheart when he wants to make pizza for dinner :-)

LIVE UP TO YOUR POTENTIAL

The Relief Society Birthday Dinner was absolutely delightful! We looked pretty good for 168 years!

The decorations

There were two vinyl lettering banners that read "Live up to your potential"
Tables were white table cloths with Happy Birthday paper in a square on the center. Each table had a cupcake tier filled with cupcakes (described under food). There were candies sprinkled on top of the birthday paper. The Food Table had some large off center tiers for the salad and there were some floral "topiaries" (not a true description, just don't know how else to describe it). The stage had some lighted greenery and a couple of beautiful candles in holders and on the gym floor in front were 4 chairs.

The food

An Italian restaurant donated lasagna and bread sticks, Soup Plantation donated the salad, and then there were the cupcakes. The cupcakes were hand made by our RS Coordinater and her mother. Each one decorated differently. Chocolate frosting with chocolate chips, Lemon frosting with a tiny lemon slice on top, strawberry with a strawberry on top, a creamy frosting with chocolate shavings, etc. They were gorgeous. Everything was delightfully delicious.

The program

A brother in our ward with a wonderful tenor voice and accompanied by a very talented sister in our ward, sang "I heard Him come" Absolutely BEAUTIFUL

A group of 4 lovely sisters sat in the 4 chairs up front and recited beautiful things from sisters in the first relief society in 1842.

AN EXTREMELY TALENTED SISTER put together a piano program and had 3 of our beautiful sisters sing the 13th article of faith and then there was a reading of our Relief Society theme while the piano played in the background and then they sang the song again.

Then the video from LDS.org was played on the Legacy of Relief Society.

So there was good food, good program and of course a good time talking and laughing and loving.

Weekend Wish List

Did not get all of my evening items done. That is okay! I got a lot done and I feel peaceful inside.

I am going to start calling my list of things to do, my ten wishes to do. They are items I would like to get done but if I don't, well next weekend is around the corner.

1 load of laundry-done
Finish cleaning family room (ie vacuum, dust inside of lamp, and organize games)-done
Buy and hang curtains for family room (I am so excited)-done. Less than $70 and we got the four windows with curtains, took out the yucky blinds. It looks very nice and comfy. It was more work than we expected and we were sweaty and yucky but we love the results. We considered it a workout for the day.
Run errands-done
Work in Yarden (rake and sweep front yard, weedwack back yard, weed, etc.)-Nope. Watered Only.
Wipe rest of bee poop off of car-Nope
Work on dress?-Decided it was not worth it. It was a very old dress that needed a makeover. I threw it away.
Sew some crayola bags-Nope
Finish crochet blanket-Nope
Work on Blogs-Nope
get ready for church on Sunday-Done

Extras completed-cleaned out some of the bedding to donate to the giving table at our monthly RS meeting. Made some cookies for my sweetheart's cookie "bucket". Did some dusting in sewing room.

That is all for now!

Down a few

Weighed today and "drum roll please" I am now officially 294.2. A total weight loss since January 4 of 18.8 pounds. I am going in the right directin. My next mini goal is 290 and my next milestone goal is 280 (exactly 100 pounds to lose).

Some days are hard and sometimes I don't "feel" like walking. Once I get out the door is another story. Then I don't want to come back in :-) Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do 'cause it is the right thing to do.

I know the Lord is with me on this journey. He is guiding my hand and sending gentle reminders along the way. He has even awaken me right at 7 a.m. so that I can get up and have my scripture time. I am so blessed!!

There are times when I "feel" hungry even when i just ate one cup of raw carrots. Fiber is supposed to make you full longer!!! Then I just ask that I can make it for 15 minutes. Eventually the hunger subsides and I can focus on other more important issues of the moment.

I often think about my brothers and sisters in desolate areas of the world that would think my cup of carrots is a queen's feast and I am humbled once again at the bounty that is mine. I do not go to bed hungry or unsatisfied. My cup runneth over in fact. These thoughts help keep me on a better course.

My sweetheart is on this ride with me. He is so patient and kind. He is so understanding when I become the calorie queen. Buys my favorite food to aid me on this journey. THANK YOU MY SWEETHEART!! Hope he heard that in his heart. He probably doesn't look at my blog.

So this journey is more than just losing weight. I am finding spiritual and physical strength along the way. The scenery is beautiful and I am looking forward to more adventures along the way!

Pictures of the yarden

So I took some pictures outside. I took a picture of our tomatoe plant, the peas, peas picked today and ready to eat. I also took a picture of the crocus plant and it's folded up bloom. It opens in sunshine but I am not home to see it. I also took a picture of a bulb that blooms in our back yard every spring. I don't know what it is but it is beautiful.

So here's to enjoying the yarden

Here are some pea blossoms that skinny sis asked for
