Hot Summer Nights

So this week has been unbearably hot. We do not have air conditioning and it has been hotter than ever and going strong. It is usually not this hot for this long this close to the beach but there you have it. So we are trying to stay still and minimize movement as much as possible. Our poor mini moo. Her last owner had air conditioning and I know she is miserable. She just lays on the tile and tries not to move or have anyone touch her right now.

This too shall pass. Just trying not to melt. Picture if you will the scene in the Wizard of Oz.

Hooked on yarn this week had 8 people! It was awesome. We usually only have 3 so I am hoping the new people will continue to come.

Temple night was a blessing and I know the hand of the Lord is in all we do. We hit horrible traffic and thought we would miss our session. I carpool with a sister I visit teach. Anyway, we barely made it. I am telling you, there is no way we should have but it was like time stood still or something.... AWESOME.....

Second harvest of beans was as big as the first. I am looking forward to FHE to see how many more I can pick and can.

Hope you all had a great week too!

Laundry first then fun things working

Enrichment evening was awesome. We had a great turn out. A lot of primary and young women sisters attended. Unfortunately due to the venue being in a park, a lot of our senior sisters were unable to attend. We had about 30 sisters there which is awesome for us. Sometimes we have only had 5 sisters come.

I also was able to pick up my new scratchless glasses. It is always a treat to get a new pair of glasses. Then at Sam's club today we got me some sunglasses that actually cover your regular glasses. A little nerdy but very practical for all the uses I need them for.

Monday FHE was a blast picking beans and freezing them.

Tonight after yarden work, I will be making some cookies to fill the cookie bin and tomorrow afternoon I am trying my hand at home made bagels. I am also going to be bean picking again.

I finished the baby blanket for my friend's grandbaby and I have a cross stich project in the wings waiting to get started.

I guess I better get laundry done so I can have some fun!!!!

Pictures on Blog

First of all, I am so excited that I was able to put some pictures on my blog!! Yeah me and a huge thank you to my sweetheart!!

The camera is a little $10 job that you just aim and click. You don't have a chance to see how they turned out until you download them. Someday soon I hope for a real digital camera but in the meanwhile this will do for little items.

I hope you enjoy the pictures as they come over.

Mini Moo--Isn't she beautiful

These are some of my bean plants getting big. I will be picking beans for family home evening.

12 years and going strong

On August 9, my sweetheart and I celebrated 12 years of married life together. I am so thankful for such a wonderful man to share my heart, dreams and life with. We spent the day quietly at home and just enjoyed talking together and spending the day with each other. Every Saturday is our day and we enjoy them every week. He is the love of my life and I don't know what I would do without him. "He is my life now!" (Twilighters will know what I mean by that). I am thankful for his support and love and I appreciate him and love him more with each rising and setting of the sun.

Pennies are Powerful

On Thursday evening we had our Gourmet Book Club and it was awesome. I was the presenter for the book "Three Cups of Tea". It was an enjoyable evening. Greg Mortenson is someone we can all get inspiration from. One person has done so much for the children, women, and men of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is awesome to learn about brothers and sisters in other cultures and to learn how such a little bit helps so much. So we now have a pennies are powerful campaign in our book club. Every month we will bring our pennies and spare change and I made a container for them. We will then turn the money over to one of the sisters in our ward that spends a lot of time in Mexico helping with the orphanages down there. It is incredible how much we take for granted. We all donated toiletries, sheets, pillow cases, clothing etc. She was amazed at how many of the children were sleeping on raw mattresses and pillows. The children loved the donated items.

I will keep the blog posted on future inspirational events.

Fun week

We had an audit this week that we passed 100%. It was an internal audit from our parent company but it is still unheard of to not have at least one thing they find that they want to change so I am very proud of our department at work!!! Mini Moo is really starting to open up to us and we play every night now. She loves chasing bubbles and she is really funny to watch. Also, I have a ribbon that I use as a book mark that she loves when I play tug of war with it. She is feeling more at home and it is good. She is almost always smiling and purring. She does not like to be held or petted for very long at a time. She is a great addition to our family and we love her.

Great things coming.....

This week was a good work and very productive. Got a lot done at work this week. There were not any activities this week. Upcoming this week another ward invited me to a provident living activity that the sisters have once a month. It is going to be awesome to spend time with old friends (we were in 10th ward before), and to learn so new things and hopefully have some ideas to bring to Vista 5th ward. Our Gourmet Book Club is reading a book called Three Cups of Tea and I will do the presentation on the 2nd Thursday of August. It is a wonderful book and I encourage you all to read it. It will inspire you to great things and is especially uplifting.

Hears to great things ahead!
