Hummingbirds

On my walk at lunch today I got to the end of the path where I turn around to go back to work and what did I see but 3 hummingbirds chasing each other. Then they split up and I just stood there and watched one of the hummingbirds for a few moments. It made my day and made me smile.

Hummingbirds are very special to me. One day I was really depressed. I had been feeling depressed for several weeks and I was feeling really bad about myself. I went outside to work in the yarden and a hummingbird came and hovered about 1 foot in front of my face. It hovered for several seconds. They usually don't get that close.

I really felt like it was an answer from Heavenly Father that He knows who I am and that it is all okay. I am okay and I am one of His daughters. He knows who I am!

So now every time I see a hummingbird, it is a gentle reminder that Heavenly Father loves me.

Mini Moo-Adventure

Oh my goodness. So last night I was in my craft room working on a service project that includes some sewing. I left the drawer that I keep the fabric in open so that I could access it easier. Mini Moo hopped inside to look around and I thought nothing of it until she disappeared and the drawer started mysteriously moving on its own. I thought uh oh, there is something wrong with this picture. She had somehow squeezed through the back of the drawer, about 3 inches high and is now BEHIND the drawer. Oh my goodness! Jim came and we had to figure out how to remove the drawer to get her out. What an adventure! I picked her up and she was Purring!!!

I told her there is a reason that the saying is "Curiosity Killed the Cat"..... Oh Mini Moo you make our life so interesting.

Supportive Sweetheart

I am so grateful for my sweetheart that helped me set up for a baptism at church yesterday. We set up the chairs, put out the hymn books and put some paper goods in the kitchen.

I love him so much!

Mini Moo personality is growing

Mini Moo is really showing her beautiful personality. We have so much fun playing with a piece of ribbon every evening. She meets me at the door at night. She is enjoying the attention she is getting and she is turning into a lap and petting cat. She is not 100% converted but she is liking it more every day.

We love her and she is so beautiful!

Daughters of our Heavenly Father

I really enjoyed the General Women's Broadcast. I am so glad to part of an organization of women that are striving to do what is right. I was so pleased that the talks focused on us being daughters of our Heavenly Father, Visiting Teaching, and the temple.

Week of Rest

I have really not been well last week so I did not accompish too much. I did attend book club and we watched the movie "A tale of two cities". It was a great movie. Long but oh so good. I recommend it for anyone who wants to put perspective in their lives and to see a beautiful love story. It also makes me glad for the court system we have. It may not be perfect but it is better than a lot of other things.

Then this last week we had our Enrichment evening. We had a getting to know you game that was unique and a lot of fun. Then we all had to write an anonymous thing about ourselves on a piece of paper. Then everyone picked one from the bowl and read it and we had to try to figure out who it was. It was so fun and we really learned a lot from each other. It was a dessert potluck and then in the meantime the RS presidency was doing the visiting teaching interviews. It was quite the success but I was really glad to come home and go to bed.

This weekend was Stake Conference and we had the grand opportunity to have Elder Cordoba from the 70s. It was a spiritual feast. The focus was on family. He stressed to us the importance of family prayer, FHE, wholesome family activities, and family gospel study. He also talked about how we need to find balance for family, work, church callings, and ourselves. It was great.

I got to talk to two of my beautiful sisters this weekend and it was a joy in my life. I am now going to log off and work on some other things but wanted to let you all know I am hanging in there and getting better each day.

Have a great week upcoming. It is sure to be awesome!

Scare Cat

The scare cat worked!!!! The neighbor cat came over and tried to attack mini moo through the window. The scare cat went off and fell. She got scared by the cans and went home. She has not been over since....at least not to mess with mini moo.

If I have a cold why am I hot

I have a cold and yet I am hot. I feel crummy. It has been a while since my last cold and now I really appreciate being well. I am tired, I mean bone tired. I am very weak and I did not go anywhere this weekend, not even the temple or church. I think I might have a sinus thing going on. Anyway, they call it a cold but then why do we get so hot and clammy?

Hot and Steamy

Still hot and muggy. 77 degrees today but with 75% humidity. It is yucky! Anyway for FHE the beans were 1/2 of the harvest. There are more growing and more flowers so I am hopeful for a few more harvests. It is fun to watch our freezer section with beans in it.

I have the Relief Society presidency message/lesson tomorrow and it is going to be a three way tie in of self-reliance, service to others, and relief society. I hope the Spirit will help me to put all of things from my heart and mind into verbal words.

The company picnic was a lot of fun. I participated in the water balloon toss and my sweetheart works at the park we held the picnic at. So when his shift was over he came down to our picnic and shared it with us. Quite the treat. We had snow cones and popcorn and it was just downright fun!

The cat next door keeps torturing and taunting mini moo so I made some scare cats outside. I took some wire fencing stuff that was here when we moved in. I had saved it and I put some soda cans on it with yarn and when she attacked mini moo it made a horrible sound and scared her away. She hasn't been back but I am keeping it up for a while to make sure. I don't like it when people don't follow the rules. We are not supposed to have outdoor cats in this assocation. Oh well, I hope this will work.

Fly "Cat"cher

So mini moo was cheecheeing. That is when cats make this funny noise and puff air out of their cheeks and are stalking something. Usually they can see birds or something. Anyway, mini moo is cheecheeing and I am trying to find the source. So my sweetheart says she did the same thing the other day over a fly and that it was really funny to watch. Sure enough there is a fly flying around right at her level almost like it was taunting her. She started stalking it and chasing it and pawing at it and jumping for it. It was so funny. We were laughing out loud! She makes us laugh and we love her so much!
